Alex, I’ll choose 5 reviews for $200 please…
I’ve been stumbling upon many blogs lately that are participating in sponsored review programs, like PayPerPost and ReviewMe. I don’t know about you, but the reviews are starting to annoy me. I used to be able to just skip by them when they were posted once in a blue moon. But now I am running across blogs that will have 4 review posts, followed by one “original” post, then 4 more reviews. What’s the difference between a site like this and a splog?
I understand how this can be useful for an advertiser with a very targeted campaign, but what is stopping said company from going directly to the influential blogger and negotiating directly? Oh, that’s right, this is really all about SEO. After all, the review costs are determined by Google Pagerank and Alexa Rankings. It’s probably cheaper and more efficient to buy a couple PR4 reviews than hire an SEO expert for a couple of hours for some link building. And forget about trying to convince a single A-list bloggers to review your product on their blog when you can buy your way onto a myriad of blogs lesser in statue for a similar cost.
And what about sales? Does CTR matter? Is the review the same as a giant CPM banner that gets buried into a blogger’s archive in a week?
The great thing about the internet is that trends run in cycles. Will the sponsored review phenomenon last? Not in it’s current form. Here’s where I see it heading, which I think would be a good thing. Why not have the advertiser pay the upfront fee like they do now, but offer an affiliate tracking link and commissions for sales conversions? Both sides would win. The advertiser gets the SEO link that they are currently paying for, and potential a new sales channel. The blogger gets paid for the placing the “review” on their site, and can earn commissions by referring their readers to the advertiser’s site and completing a sale. Bloggers have been slapping affiliate links on their sites like it’s going out of style, but I’m willing to venture that a majority of them aren’t rolling in the commission dough. By giving them a little cash up front, they may be encouraged to write a better, more focused review. The cookie could be tracked through the permalink for the article, which may be necessary if(when) google continues to devalues affiliate-type links in it’s algorithm.
What are your thoughts? Are you making good money through blog reviews? Better yet, for the advertisers, are your sales increasing directly from the reviews, or more from the link-building SEO benefits?

Absolutely right.
Very informative post.
June 27th, 2007 at 10:17 am
Such posts will possibly affect on Google PR, but will not raise a site in search. Therefore 5 reviews for $200 it’s not cheap
August 2nd, 2007 at 1:35 am
I have to agree I think this type of trend will work better and give the blogger some motive to review your site. and you both make some money!
November 8th, 2007 at 10:34 pm
Things will probably be changing soon. In the long run readers won’t stay around if all they see is reviews. You have to give them a reason to come back.
November 17th, 2007 at 4:50 am
interesting article..made good reading.!!
November 24th, 2007 at 5:04 am
It’s always better when you contact the owner of the blog, most of the times you can get amazing deals. Why go through the middleman after all. Say you want a backlink, just email the owner and either do a links exchange or just buy a link at their blogroll. Works great for me anyway.
January 10th, 2008 at 7:25 am
I think it’s just for the SEO benefit. Readers will see the difference between a real review and a sponsorred one. A while a go we did a test on a blog with payed reviews. We reviewed a product and said it was very bad. Had a good laugh with that one.
January 11th, 2008 at 10:45 am
Can not say which one will be more effective from sales point of view. It’s a split decision. Each has it’s own (dis)advantages.
February 7th, 2008 at 3:11 pm
I know this article is a bit old, but I agree with you. This trend certainly can’t last. I can’t argue with bloggers wanting to make some cash, but this is getting kinda silly. In fact, they could probably make more money with a little creativity.
February 14th, 2008 at 4:57 am
In my opinion, the purpose of blog to exist is to share knowledge and experiences of the blogger, something useful and beneficial. Not just reviews and reviews and reviews…
February 17th, 2008 at 10:23 pm
It’s really distract me from looking as a good blog. Well, it’s ok to advertise but please don’t over do it. It might drive the reader / visitor away instead of catching them.
February 18th, 2008 at 8:02 pm
interesting article.. Good.
February 27th, 2008 at 8:42 am
This post was really informative! Thank you!
I really like your blog and am disappointed to see you haven’t posted since last year. Please keep posting and I will be back!
February 29th, 2008 at 12:56 am
Yeah, I must agree with Jason Pearson. It’s too bad you haven’t posted since. I do anticipate that you would continue posting though!
March 7th, 2008 at 2:24 pm
I mean all that seem to matter now in blogging is how to make more money, even if it means paying for reviews.
April 15th, 2008 at 3:49 am
“What are your thoughts? Are you making good money through blog reviews? Better yet, for the advertisers, are your sales increasing directly from the reviews, or more from the link-building SEO benefits?”
It benefits you both, it makes you a reliable source of information by reviewing blogs, it also makes you fairly popular. On the SEO part, it also helps in link building.
May 9th, 2008 at 6:58 am
yeah you can sure get good money within blog rewievs
May 13th, 2008 at 3:16 pm
I don’t mind sponsored reviews if it’s for a smaller site that really needs the finances, but big sites just shouldn’t do it. I don’t see the point in even having a blog if you’re going to have 80% of it be sponsored reviews like you said. I really don’t even see why companies would pay decent money for someone who mainly does sponsored reviews. People will definitely stop going to the site once they catch on and realize it’s all garbage.
May 21st, 2008 at 7:51 am
it is not easy to find a well blog which has intresting themes its a big problem
May 24th, 2008 at 2:31 am
Paid reviews are ridiculous – everybody knows what they are and so do the search engines. Expect penalties for them soon. Every tactic that attempts to skirt the system like this is doomed to failure.
May 26th, 2008 at 5:02 am
It is annoying you are ridgt. But is a powerful marketing strategy. And a good way to moneterise your blog
June 10th, 2008 at 8:40 am
I think Rife Machine is right. I can see some penalty situations arise on them in the future such as page rank drop. Not a big fan of them however, kudos to the blogger who can still make a living today any way they can. And if people still come to the site and want to skip thru the bs to get to the original post then great. Traffic is key.
June 10th, 2008 at 4:56 pm
wonderful post beatiful web page send you post thank you
June 17th, 2008 at 6:16 pm
Is there any software that can teach you to link building so we can save money and still have the positive outcome?
July 2nd, 2008 at 10:25 am
I totally disagree with SEO Grand, I have a friend who offers SEO consulting and all he does is tell client’s how to use Sponsored Reviews and all the clients rank and have been doing so for some time.
July 2nd, 2008 at 8:21 pm
Sponsored reviews aren’t a terrible idea. They are a not-very-good idea, poorly executed. People end up whoring out their reputations (because they’ll say ANYTHING for money) instead of actually trying the product and presenting a review. The former has ZERO value, while the latter could have significant value.
July 15th, 2008 at 9:48 am
Hey, great article! Congrats.
July 18th, 2008 at 7:30 pm
It may not be a perfect situation but it allows everyday people to use their creative juices in a positive way I believe. Plus it allows individuals to make some extra money and still be doing something worth while in the process. These economic times are only going to spur more interest in these types of programs. But that is only my opinion.

If you are seeing that many paid posts per unpaid posts then those bloggers are violating the terms of service of the companies that are paying them. They are supposed to have each paid post sandwiched between unpaid posts. Perhaps the unpaid posts are still showing links to the bloggers favorite products and you can’t tell which are paid and which are unpaid?
July 28th, 2008 at 6:23 am
To be honest.. paid reviews really make your blog look ugly. Specially when there are people who take every sort of paid review they can, even if it is totally opposite of the niche they write about!
August 7th, 2008 at 4:21 pm
I’ve been through all of this paid posting stuff quite a few times. While it is definitely good for some extra pocket money each month, I would not really recommend you doing it if you had a professional blog targeted at webmasters or something of the sort
August 15th, 2008 at 10:31 pm
Very interesting to read the comments that have come about concerning the issue of blogging for money. I think that any way you can make some money these days, legally of course, is just another way to help make ends meet in these screwed up economic times.
August 20th, 2008 at 2:37 pm
I used to go about with paid reviews on a couple of my blogs, but eventually got round to ditching them. I prefer normal advertising. Paid reviews are not my choice anymore.,
September 5th, 2008 at 5:29 pm
Personally I’ve never used any sort of paid review from bloggers but honestly If I was offered a large some of money to write a review on a website it would be hard to turn down.
September 28th, 2008 at 5:57 pm
Well, it’s quite simple really, if you don’t like the blogs that have paid reviews, don’t go back and read them again! Bookmark your favorites and leave it at that!
October 22nd, 2008 at 7:08 am
I agree with your article. Paid reviews are out of date and do look ugly in blogs. I would rather use traditional methods of getting revenue from a blog than trying to write reviews about other blogs.
October 27th, 2008 at 3:55 pm
I think it’s just for the SEO benefit. Readers will see the difference between a real review and a sponsorred one. A while a go we did a test on a blog with payed reviews. We reviewed a product and said it was very bad. Had a good laugh with that one.

October 29th, 2008 at 10:30 pm
I don’t offer it up on any of my blogs, I’d rather put in a review of an affiliate product purchased and had great value to then monetize my blog…
November 3rd, 2008 at 1:14 pm
It’s good to build community, but it sometimes takes away from spending time developing good content for your own blog.
November 4th, 2008 at 9:22 am
I really don’t see the sense in a paid review. I do affiliate marketing, but I’m very careful about what I recommend and only recommend AFTER I’ve used a product and am happy that it does what it says.
You pays you money, you takes you choice I suppose.
November 4th, 2008 at 6:55 pm
The CTR thing is debatable. Great article, very informative.
November 4th, 2008 at 6:57 pm
Also, I am making money through blog reviews.
November 6th, 2008 at 4:41 am
Man, I can imagine all the guys drooling when they think about putting a review-me on their own blog… lol
November 9th, 2008 at 12:31 pm
The bottom line with any review site is that in order to be successful long term, the reviewer need to be honest – gimmicks won’t last.
November 11th, 2008 at 9:23 pm
Of course, to do a good review, you have to try out the products/programs. That way you can post all the pros and cons about it. I’m certain people will like that, because at least I will.
By the way, I noticed this blog stopped updating, did something happened?

Reviews are only good if they’re honest. Most people can see through sycophantic reviews. They want a proper evaluation. If you give an honest appraisal, it gives credence to the blogger too.
November 13th, 2008 at 9:08 am
Reviews should be done because people want to review them, not because they’re paid to.
November 14th, 2008 at 12:54 am
As the webmaster of a similar blog advertising site, I understand your point well. Bloggers that are posting so many sponsored reviews really degrade the quality of the ads for the advertisers. Like you said, one on occasion won’t phase readers, but too many will send your a blog’s readers elsewhere.
November 15th, 2008 at 5:58 pm
Well you were right about sponsored reviews not lasting much longer. Now in november of 2008 everybody knows that you’ll get google slapped if you do sponsored reviews.
I really don’t have a problem with sponsored reviews or any other kind of intrusive advertising on blogs. I mean, we all watch tv and tv is LOADED with intrusive spam known as commercials. We all hate commercials right? Yet we understand that without commercials our favorite shows would have no funding.
So we put up with commercials and we should also be able to tolerate sponsored reviews imo.
November 15th, 2008 at 11:38 pm
Internet is full of paid advertising, even some right on googles site, so why do they penalize.
November 17th, 2008 at 1:34 am
There are many opportunities to get money on tne internet. Like it or not people gonna follow where the money flow
November 22nd, 2008 at 9:08 pm
I’m sure a lot of these review sites serve as landing pages for affiliate marketing purposes.
November 26th, 2008 at 10:13 pm
It’s ok to have a few reviews with affiliate links but that’s just over doing it… People want content and some free information. Not just 1 post per 4-5+ reviews trying to sell you something. I shy away from these kind of sites.
December 10th, 2008 at 12:02 pm
Also, I am making money through blog reviews.

I AM IMPRESSED WITH YOUR POST.IT IS VERY INFORMATIVE AND THE INFORMATION ARE VERY TRUE. IT WILL SURELY HELP MANY. THANKS.
December 28th, 2008 at 11:38 am
Not sure whether its only me but I believe that reviews in blogs seem spammy to me!
I dont believe that the advertiser will get sales or leads at all. Yes he might get some tens of clicks but I dont believe its worth paying $200 for a review when you actually can use that money for something else
Thanks for your articl

I agree that if the bloggers received commission they would probably do a better job of reviewing the products/services they get paid to review. Hopefully this will mean a decrease in these blogs that post mostly paid reviews rather than actual content.

If you do a lot of paid posts, you will just end up getting a PR0 blog. That’s speaking from experience. For those that would rather earn a few bucks for each paid reviews, I think most of them are merely running personal blogs which cater to a small audience. Otherwise, it just doesn’t make sense to spend all your time building your blog and earning page rank just to have it back to PR 0 because of paid posts.
March 13th, 2009 at 7:40 pm
I don’t understand why Google would degrade a blog that takes paid advertising. Very confusing to me.
March 25th, 2009 at 8:47 am
I don’t mind reading a paid post once in a while, but I wish I had confidence that the poster was being honest about the product or service.
March 26th, 2009 at 5:18 pm
You want to keep visitors on your site as long as possible, so don’t know if it’s a good idea.
April 6th, 2009 at 6:48 am
Google CEO (Schmidt) said the internet was a cesspool – he was right, but Google have helped make it so by giving so much importance to links. Low quality sites with high quality links outrank high quality sites with low quality links.

I don’t think by any means that $200 for 5 reviews is cheap. And sharing the revenue with the poster? I don’t think so, there would be too many people who would simply not pay the poster, not to mention the fact that the traffic would really not be that targeted.
April 20th, 2009 at 7:17 am
That sounds like a really cost effective marketing solution. Thanks
April 23rd, 2009 at 1:41 pm
Creative banners and images definitely will work and keep the attention of your future customers or the audience you are looking for.
April 29th, 2009 at 1:22 pm
It seems it’s a balancing act between what you earn from your blog and how your readers feel you are devaluing your blog by doing reviews. If you need to make money from your blog (most of us do) then I guess you have to weight up the pro’s and cons.
April 29th, 2009 at 4:27 pm
I have not, as of yet, written a paid review. I would tend to only write one for a company/site that I liked anyway. Reviewing any old thing for the money, is sure to ring hollow, and annoy readers. Too many bloggers will give glowing reviews to total crap for a few bucks. The paid review concept itself itsn’t the problem, the willingness of some bloggers, to pimp themselves out to anything, is the problem. A little selectivity goes a long way.
April 30th, 2009 at 6:15 am
Of course it’s cheaper to buy a couple PR4 reviews, but I’am not sure about efficient

I hate reviews, I’m sick of going to blogs thinking I’ll find something interesting to read, and finding a review of a completely irrelevant product or service
June 16th, 2009 at 9:19 am
Absolutely right.
Very informative post.
June 16th, 2009 at 8:22 pm
I agree whole heartedly. Too many bloggers are pimping themselves out. If you can make a few bucks promoting something you think is decent, cool… but many bloggers have let it get way out of hand.
June 23rd, 2009 at 1:33 pm
I see this all the time too. Sometimes I even have trouble figuring out if it’s a paid post or the blogger’s legitimate opinion. Or other times the post won’t be about the product at all, but somewhere in the post a product will be mentioned and the anchor text will be linked. And then I don’t know if it’s a paid link or not.
June 23rd, 2009 at 11:19 pm
As blooming as the Internet and blog business might be, there is still no professional community among blogers. I mean like there is one among lawyers or psychologists, an ethic code to follow. Meanwhile hosting a paid review is a great deal and most of those who receive an offer take it. If you want it to stop you have to start up the “blogger’s ethic …club” and make the members swear to go by the club’s rules
June 24th, 2009 at 9:28 am
I agree to you that ithe bloggers will definitely review on the products if they get paid for that!hence both of them will be benefited !thanks!
June 26th, 2009 at 3:22 am
excellent post. i think it depends on the content. if it is good it shouldnt matter.
June 26th, 2009 at 3:24 am
very informative. thank you.
June 28th, 2009 at 3:43 am
this brings up a good topic. but if the content appears to be original, why wouldn’t you go with the cheaper one? Good posting.
June 28th, 2009 at 6:33 am
they both have their pros and cons. i suggest doing your research and then it comes down to personal choice.
June 29th, 2009 at 2:30 pm
I’d like to get into it to make a little mony off my blog, but am afraid my readers will get pissed and not come back.
June 30th, 2009 at 6:26 am
In my point of view if there comes the question of reviewing the articles & they are paid so no one will ignore it because in this modern time world everyone is doing all the tasks & other commitments are for the only one thing & that is the money fever so in my view the paid reviews are very great!Because by it both of them the bloggers as well as the site admin will be benefited from it!
July 1st, 2009 at 6:52 am
When the points comes about the reviews then the first reaction from the visitors come from is their questions about it !& if it is a paid review then there is no difficulties for it to give the review because you rae getting paid for that!so in my point of view oi think every blogger who is as successful person in his community & blogs should give a paid review for the customers & this way both of them the visitors 7 the blogger will have the benefit for it!
July 4th, 2009 at 6:19 am
i agree to you about it when the point comes ab out the review then most of the people dont care about that but if it is paid then there will be a lot of crowd for it & that is why it is being supported by everyone but it has some disadvantages & that is the people will not sort out the negative points for you & your service & that will be just a fake review!
July 6th, 2009 at 6:28 am
We all know that having a paid review is a very great idea for the both of them the blogger as well as the person who is giving the review!hence it has a very good points in accordance to the products reputation!

Paid reviews, I agree, enhance both the blog and the author’s reputation. However, abusing of this technique is just as annoying as abusing of any other form of spamming.
July 9th, 2009 at 4:20 am
Thank you for the info. it looks like a great place to start.
July 11th, 2009 at 4:07 pm

I know exactly where you are coming from. It’s starting to irritate me greatly with all these new blogs sprouting up around the web.
July 14th, 2009 at 7:07 am
Very interesting post! I am not against payed reviews as long as they are not too many.
July 15th, 2009 at 3:57 am
I think it’s crazy, to be honest. Using a blog in that way is pretty hopeless – you won’t get good return traffic most of the time, and you certainly won’t attract premium advertising.
Hence from the advertisers point of view, it would make far more sense to spend the money on “real” adverts, or “real” search optimization.
That said, there is definitely a place in the blogsphere for reviews – just not sponsored ones!
July 17th, 2009 at 2:39 pm
$ 200 is not cheap, but interesting post anyhow..
July 17th, 2009 at 4:26 pm
Mmm… I don’t think it’s a wise idea to do that. I wouldn’t use my blog in that way. In my opinion, it demands a lot of effort on your part and results cannot be guaranteed.

Paid reviews don’t mean for sure that the final results will be as good as expected. Writing interesting posts and letting others join in the conversation is something more difficult that takes longer, but, in the end, renders better results.
July 26th, 2009 at 12:22 am
I think paid reviews benefits both seo and sales. Many people visiting online search for reviews of users first before buying. At the same time business owners, receive inlinks from the website who reviewed them.

Great post. Im really not for payed reviews but to each his own.
July 27th, 2009 at 4:49 pm
I see payed reviews as almost cheating? But that’s just me.
July 27th, 2009 at 10:40 pm
I really don’t even see why companies would pay decent money for someone who mainly does sponsored reviews. People will definitely stop going to the site once they catch on and realize it’s all garbage.
July 28th, 2009 at 2:17 pm
I really don’t see why people should turn to pay reviews in order to get online reputation. If you trust your work and are serious about it then it won’t be difficult for you to get great results. Doing it the old way may take more time but it’s more useful for me in the long term.

It seems like an innovative idea, writing reviews for a fee or commission. I imagine if someone had a popular trusted blog, they could influence alot of people to send business someone’s way.

I used to do this Payperpost when I still have tons of blog and believe I earned quite well although when Google sees all the paid reviews in your blog thats where the problem will start. I will notice the sudden change in your PR ranking and I assure you you will not love it. Coz when the PR drops the opportunity on earning big on PP also drops.

This article was kind of lost on me.
I blog because I enjoy learning and supporting my favorite hobby shop.
What good would a link build consultant do? I’m thinking that the “black hats” that Google is always trying to identify fits into a link build scenario perfectly.
I sometimes wonder why people can’t play the game properly, always trying to cheat.
Happily I am not sure what you mean by the frequency of reviews vs. original articles.
If I did understand, I probably would be annoyed just as you are.
In this case, my ignorance is probably a blessing.

the owner of the blog, most of the times you can get amazing deals. Why go through the middleman after all. Say you want a backlink, just email the owner and either do a links exchange or just buy a link at their blogroll. Works great for me anyway.

Are people still paying a lot for paid reviews? It would seem you can get just about as much exposure with a good marketing plan that involves social networking sites.

I think for long term results you need to move away from paid reviews and get some SEO help and a prolonged link building campaign.

I am one of the few simpletons that are still left out there but I think backlinks for SEO are great, but I prefer Promotion to SEO because many times it accomplishes both plus it gives you an instant reward…. Trafic. Which in the end is what we are all really looking for.

Writing reviews for blogs and products is perfectly fine. But oftentimes we see more biased reviews that are meant to show the good stuff. Paid or not, one is ideally expected to say the real big deal.

Building backlinks is more important than find some links with high page rank. I think so. But this is a good idea. I may change my mind.

I haven’t tried making a review for some company but I’m earning from doing SEO. Where can I apply for doing such reviews?
March 27th, 2010 at 4:36 pm
SEO has gone so far since its inception but somehow it also has its disadvantages. For one, instead of getting fairly impartial reviews, we know that what we’re reading might not be entirely true and we always have that inkling that the piece could be written by a paid-up writer.
March 29th, 2010 at 6:12 am
It great article.

April 13th, 2010 at 3:02 pm
Excellent article.
I agree there is not much difference between a paid for article and a paid for link.
April 20th, 2010 at 2:08 am
Eventually the search engines will find an algorithm which reduces the ranking for sponsored reviews and SEO efforts will move elsewhere. We can go back to reading quality blogs again then.
April 20th, 2010 at 4:24 am
In my opinion, the purpose of blog to exist is to share knowledge and experiences of the blogger, something useful and beneficial. Not just reviews and reviews and review
April 26th, 2010 at 11:59 am

April 28th, 2010 at 2:45 am
Things will probably be changing soon. In the long run readers won’t stay around if all they see is reviews. You have to give them a reason to come back.
May 6th, 2010 at 3:07 am
Great post, very informative. I think a lot of people will find this very useful.Keep post in coming future as well!!!
May 8th, 2010 at 4:37 pm
Part of the problem is that doing a “proper” review is more than just expressing your opinion. Comparing to alternative products/services, educating oneself to a certain degree about the market. You all know what they say about opinions…

Thanks

$200 for reviews or hiring and SEO expert is certainly not cheap, but worth the cost if you want to win the rankings game. While there are other ways of doing it, at the end of the day, we all want to rank well in google!
May 15th, 2010 at 12:31 pm
The product review for me its a important point because by that only even the customers as well as the seller get to know about the specific characteristics for the product including the good and bad points as well.
May 16th, 2010 at 2:58 am
wow 5 review for 200 dollars not bad..:)
May 18th, 2010 at 7:09 am
Great post… It’s all about generating website traffic. I think Google did not like the paid review, while ranking a website.
Anybody have idea about the Google guidelines regarding this technique?
May 19th, 2010 at 3:15 pm
I have been debating on whether or not to add some ads to my site, and I always feel like my visitors won’t like it. I have participated in some of the paid reviews, but those are far and few between….I like my content to come from the heart.

Paid blog review links seem to be somewhat beneficial, but it really depends on the blogger’s audience and whether he becomes a strictly only pay per post blogger or adheres to his values and only writes sponsored posts that are on topic.
June 2nd, 2010 at 11:22 pm
I’m torn between adding adds on my site or not to. Its does make the site look trashy actually
June 10th, 2010 at 10:01 pm
Paid reviews are a short term plan, you have to have long term plans running along them also.

A very good idea, a little cash upfront will encourage bloggers to do a better and more focused review. I quite agree with your line of thinking here.

Hard to come by a good product review that sells. Most of the time it’s too obvious. It is also hard to make one especially if the product ain’t that good.

Paid reviews are good. You get the word out there. Either you pay for one with high PR or get many blogs/sites with low PR. Either way, it should set out a cascade of some syndications.
July 20th, 2010 at 12:52 am
Any how, I think the quality itself is very important. SEO is just a assist method to promote your website. If the website itself does has value for people, SEO will just take a small portion in your promotion. Google put more emphasis on the quality.

I think they both help, but link-building is probably the most important.
July 21st, 2010 at 6:13 pm
It does get frustrating to begin following a blog because of their great content to realize a few months down the road they have become excessive with the reviews.

A paid review is nice to jumpstart your new website. A month or so of running reviews around the blogoshpere should put your otherwise unknown website in the map. From there, you should be doing other things to promote your website.
July 31st, 2010 at 1:55 am

I’m sure Paid reviews will be something of the past soon. I think people should do what they can with them while they are still here!

August 15th, 2010 at 7:04 am
This paid reviews thing is a craze which I hope goes away soon.
August 16th, 2010 at 6:14 pm
I don’t think you will increase sales within blog reviews but for sure you might get some PR juice and maybe even some readers. 200 bucks?!? that’s a rip off for sure!
August 17th, 2010 at 5:41 am
I think its better to come up with different blog post, meaning not just reviews. You can share ideas, tips, strategies and even experiences that you encountered that can help readers on making decisions in case they have the same situations.
August 18th, 2010 at 7:56 pm
This is quite awesome offer, very convenient offer. And a pretty nice idea, a lot of writers will bite this one.

I think it’s just for the SEO benefit. Readers will see the difference between a real review and a sponsorred one. A while a go we did a test on a blog with payed reviews. We reviewed a product and said it was very bad. Had a good laugh with that one.
